Photography and Multimedia Narrative Workshop
Instructor
Şehlem Kaçar
Course Overview
This workshop invites students to explore photography and multimedia as narrative languages—ways of thinking, remembering, and speaking through images, sound, text, sequence, and rhythm. We will practice visual storytelling while developing an ethical, feminist, and care-centered approach to making and sharing work. The course draws inspiration from therapeutic photography practices (without positioning the class as therapy), gendered perspectives of looking, and Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way as a creative habit and confidence-building framework.
Workshop format:
short lectures + image/screening discussions + studio exercises + peer feedback circles + production labs.
